CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
Lest than half an hour flight away or a five hour drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara, plus an exciting white water rafting, you will find yourself in the most enchanting sub-tropical jungle of Chitwan National Park. Here, you will discover the lost world of prehistoric rhinoceros, magnificent Royal Bengal tiger, towering trees and twisting vines, with dream like Tharu tribal villages at its fringes.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan National Park, is a home to more than 500 one-horned rhino, some 90 royal Bengal tiger, spotted leopard, sloth bear, wild bison, striped hyena, Gangetic dolphin, an estimated 47 species of mammals, over 500 species of reptiles, and 126 species of fish. It is also the habitat of the near extinct Gharial crocodile.
Resort and Facilities – RAINBOW SAFARI RESORT
Resort is situated in a peaceful and tranquil area by the bank of Rapti River and just beside the national park entrance. Accommodation at the resort consists of individual collages and a safari building with open verandas set in a green garden full of lively flowers and plants. Our professionally landscaped gardens have numerous umbrellas and hammocks for outdoor relaxation. At the resort, every effort has been made to create a wild atmosphere for our visitors. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and equipped with all modern amenities.
Welcome drink upon arrival, and short briefing about activities and facilities. Escort guest up to the room for freshen up.
In the afternoon, our naturalist will take you on the culture tour to Tharu village to see and learn about the ethnic people of Chitwan; Museum tour; sunset views. You can also enjoy Tharu stick dance in the evening after dinner.
After breakfast, the day is devoted for whole day jungle activities which includes, elephant ride, canoe ride, bird watching ( an estimated 450 plus bird species are found in Chitwan jungles), nature walk, a visit to elephant breeding center, explore the local traditional Tharu village and Overnight stay in Chitwan National Park.
In the morning, after breakfast around 8 in the morning, we leave for Kathmandu / Pokhara.
